Thank you for using Pocket Change.
Due to the largescale volume increase of Japanese Yen (JPY) coins negatively influencing our operational capacity, long-term maintenance was carried out on all kiosks from Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Maintenance will be completed from 10:30 am on February 9, 2022 (Wednesday), and service will be resumed.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers regarding this long-term maintenance.
In addition, as an immediate response, we have decided to discontinue the handling of Japanese Yen coins.
Our kiosks have existed since 2016 as “a service for exchanging foreign currency (cash and coins) for electronic money”.
We understand that the use case for charging Japanese yen coins to e-money has been well received by our customers, and that the convenience of entering foreign currencies and JPY simultaneously is the best way to maximize e-money conversion. We have continually done our best to maintain the quality and integrity of this service.
However, due to the recent changes surrounding certain financial institutions increasing their fee’s for the exchange of Japanese Yen coins, the amount of JPY coins has reached a level where it is difficult to maintain this element of our service.
As a result, we are sorry to report that we will no longer handle Japanese Yen coins.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers, and thank you for your understanding.

Coronavirus safety measures and prevention strategy
We appreciate your continued patronage!
Here at Pocket Change, we want to be sure that we are taking all of the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and other infectious diseases.
We are striving to maintain the health and safety of all our users.
Please see the video we’ve prepared regarding hygiene and safety precautions at the airport.
■We have three main spread prevention measures
We’ve identified three primary methods at our Pocket Change kiosk to support and prevent the spread of sickness and other health risks.
1 Adding a copper infused antimicrobial film to the touch screen
By adding a copper (CU) container antimicrobial film on the touch screen interface, we are able to minimize potential spread of bacteria.
2 Using an antimicrobial sheet to sanitize the surface of the machine.
The machines cash slot, NFC pad, and general user interface areas will be wiped daily using an antimicrobial sheet.
3 Keeping a distance of 1m when queuing.
When waiting in line to use the Pocket Change kiosk, please queue behind the next customer at a minimum distance of 1m.
Business hours have been adjusted for some terminals. Please check our website for up to date information.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation for any inconvenience caused by the measures taken to maximize the health and safety of our customers.
We will do our best to utilize these changes at all locations, but plan to roll out these changes gradually.
